This year the portal opened for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric applications in July 2025 and runs through December 2025. This scheme covers students studying in recognised government, government-aided and private institutions with a separate – outside state category for UP residents studying elsewhere. The application process is fully online via the official portal and requires timely submission of documents, a final hard-copy submission at the institution – where applicable and multi-level verification before funds are released.

1. Candidate Must be Permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh (Indian citizen).
2. Candidate Must be Enrolled in a recognised school/college/university in the relevant class or course.
3. For Pre-Matric Students in Classes 9–10 (must have passed Class 8).
4. For Post-Matric Intermediate Students in Classes 11–12 (must have passed Class 10).
5. For Post-Matric Undergrad, postgrad, PhD and other higher education programs.
6. For Income ceilings typically ₹2.5 lakh per annum for General/SC/ST in some categories and ₹2.0 lakh for OBC/other specified categories; special relaxations for sanitation workers.
7. For those Students already receiving another scholarship for the same course are not eligible.

How to register and fill the UP Scholarship 2025-26 – Apply Online Form for Pre & Post Matric

Candidate need to go through Following steps to complete registration and application on the official portal:

1. Visit the official website at scholarship.up.gov.in or use the link ‘Apply Online’ shown on the homepage.
2. Click Student → Registration and choose the correct category (Fresh or Renewal).
3. Fill basic details and complete One-Time Registration where needed. Save/print the registration number.
4. Login using registration no., DOB and password; go to “Fill Application Form”.
5. Provide course/institute details, family income, bank and Aadhaar details; upload required documents.
6. Click Update and take final printout. Submit the hard copy to your school/college if the scheme requires it.
